Years ago I got hooked on the Alien Huntress series of stories. There are eight books with the printing of "Dark Swan". But with the third book Gena Showalter took the series in a new direction. That third book is "Savor Me Slowly". That's a great book to start with if you want to jump into this series. But for voracious readers, get books one and two as well and read those. Those books are titled "Awaken Me Darkly" and "Enslave Me Sweetly".
"Dark Swan's" setting is futuristic with a cast of characters with different abilities. It's main location is Earth, but an Earth that has had major conflict and has poisonous area. Wink, best to have your chemical suit ready. Showalter draws you into this new world rapidly by putting you right into the lives of the characters. We get a glimpse into the early life of our heroine Lilica Swan and her two sisters. It's not pleasant. Lilica and her sisters are science experiments and held hostage by a group of scientists. Years later Lilica and her sisters escape, but they each have social problems and emotional instability. Gena Showalter had me feeling for these three sisters, even the one who ends up really power hungry.
Our hero is not new to us series readers. It's finally time for AIR agent Dallas Gutierrez to settle down. He's the guy who gets around and he needs a very special woman to hook him. Lilica Swan does just that. Their bond goes both ways and it's a pleasure to see these two butt heads. In the end they find they are the perfect match and Dallas is happy with his new place in life.
The big question is will Dallas kill one of the sisters and loose Lilica. Lilica believes her sister is redeemable. But is she? Only readers of the full book will ever know.
The Alien Huntress series is back with fan favorite AIR agent Dallas Gutierrez from New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling paranormal romance author Gena Showalter, who doesn’t disappoint with this sizzling hot alpha hero.
Lilica Swan isn’t quite human or otherworlder; she is the best—and worst—of both.
