Paranormal romance and urban fantasy readers will enjoy this version of the tales of Sleepy Hollow. This is my first foray into this series and "Brimstone" is book two. I didn't have any problem just jumping right in and enjoying the plot. Paranormal romance fans do need to know that this isn't your typical boy meets girl and falls in love. This is darker. The hero has passed away and the heroine is very devastated. Through magical means they are able to communicate. The big question is can they find a way to be together?
I very much enjoyed the pacing of this story. There isn't a moment where you will become board as the author has you jumping down the rabbit hole and unlocking clues that lead to more things to unlock.
Our heroine Janda Gray is the real focus of the story as she has a mission to stop the Headless Horseman. With the help of some "friends" she is going full force ahead. It's not going to be easy, but she's on a mission.
SPECIAL BONUS INCLUDES: "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving
Lykoi shifter Janda Gray has spent the last year as a Sleepy Hollow Hunter and has finally been given a major case—capture the Headless Horseman before he can obtain the missing half of his skull mask and regain his power as a demon’s assassin.
But a surprise attack by the horseman leaves Janda and her werepanther lover, Alexander Holden, caught in the underworld until Alex sacrifices himself to send her through the veil of death and back to the world of the living.
Janda’s no longer hunting the Headless Horseman for the money.
Now it’s personal.
She’s determined to save Alex or die trying—either way, she’ll be with him again.
