*WARNING: Explicit sex between a timid Watcher and a gorgeous Seeker, and a ceremony that will certainly raise eyebrows!

FAVORITE LINE:

"Are you feeling all right?" the man asked, his voice a deep smooth rumble. He speaks. Her fantasy dream had just kicked up a notch. She smiled. "Why wouldn't I be all right? I'm looking at the hottest man I've ever seen."

PLOT:

The second book in The Watcher series is definitely a book worthy of a readers attention. Filled with action, drama, and demon butt kicking, Stacey Kennedy has proven just how far she's come in her writing career. While her first book in The Watchers Series, A Deadly Whisper, did not reach the standards that I have come to expect from her, the author has proven she can deliver a good story with intriguing characters. The adventure and story line took me into a world where demons exist and have a taste for murder and humans. Where fallen angels are there to help protect the humans and safe guard the world with the help of immortal seekers and watchers. Ms. Kennedy did a good job of weaving together a love story with all the action that is her signature style. I absolutely loved the latter part of the story and reading all the little threads as they came together to form the ending. This story will keep you turning the pages long into the night just to stay with the hero and heroine a little longer. They brought the story to life with love and sizzling passion while the adventure added the spike of adrenaline.

SETTING:

The story started out saving the heroine from a mental institution and rapidly moved on to the watchers compound in Sedona, Arizona. It's not long after that when the adventure to fight a prince of Hell pulls them to Leesville, Louisiana. And that is where it all gets very very interesting!

WRITING:

In my review for A Deadly Whisper, the first book in the watchers series, the author riddled the book with rapid point of views switches which often left me guessing as to whose head I was in. However in this book, while the author did switch between the hero and heroine, she did so with an ease that did not interrupt the story flow. I was also surprised to discover the depth the author added to the characters. This is a new development to Ms. Kennedy's writing style that I hope to see more of in the future.

CHARACTERS:

Nayeli is a heroine I definitely connected to on several levels but one is particular. I find a heroine that has no connection to family or friends so compelling and worthy to read about. I felt drawn to her, wanting to read about her life just to see how she would learn to accept the new life suddenly given to her. The doubt and insecurity she experienced and battled against only made her that more endearing to me. She was a brave and strong willed woman determined to protect and give back to those around her, which I found to be a lesson I took away from this book. Her seeker, Griffin, also made me step back and take a closer look at how to present myself to those around me. His patience and level of understanding with his watcher was another character trait that touched me. He was exactly what Nayeli needed to heal her soul and heart from the tremendous amount of pain she had lived for the better part of her life. The connection between the two was instantly strong. Being pulled together by a natural bond formed between seeker and watcher then amped up with the physical attraction to one another added the pop and sizzle affect to the romance between the Nayeli and Griffin. A hot romance indeed!

LAST THOUGHTS:

Whispers of Evil is a good read for anyone that loves strong characters and an action packed plot. Ms. Kennedy's second installment to her Watchers series left me satisfied and waiting for the next book to come.
