SUMMARY: (taken from the author's site)

When you're searching for your purpose, the last thing you expect to discover is that you're the latest reincarnation of a goddess on a three thousand year old mission to defeat the original werewolf, Lycaon, before he can gain revenge on Zeus and Olympus.

Rescued from the claws of werewolves by Julian, a handsome and mysterious immortal, Lauren is pulled into a dark and frightening new world full of monsters out to kill her and an organisation of people with phenomenal abilities who want to protect her—Ghost. But the most frightening thing of all is that soon Lauren will need to drink Julian's blood in order to reawaken and regain her immortal powers.
Or she will die.

Julian isn't about to let that happen. He's never met anyone like Lauren and he's determined not to lose her. She's the perfect copy of Illia but is nothing like her or any of the incarnations. She is light to their darkness, and she breathes life back into him, but can he trust her with his heart and bring himself to believe that the feelings she shows him are real after everything he has been through?
Can Lauren succeed in defeating Lycaon when all of her predecessors have failed? Will she be able to crack the armour around Julian's heart and seize her happily forever after with him?

FAVORITE LINE:

"Nothing could spoil any moment I have with you like this. they are all perfect, each one, and they are all beautiful. they are elusive dreams made flesh and blood. you have breathed life into them just as you breathed in into me." - Julian

FIRST LINE:

Monsters existed.

Lauren had always suspected it to be true, and now she had all the evidence she needed.

PLOT:

A beautifully woven tapestry pieced together with the magical tales of Greek gods, new love, and painful betrayal. From the time Greek gods were worshiped and feared to the present, this story brings you into a world rich with history and an unforgettable story. The author has taken mythology and twisted into a story riddled with tension and fast paced action. The connection between the hero and heroine are heart stopping all the way through. Coming from a life where she feels she doesn't belong, Lauren grasps her true destiny, sides with Ghost and her Arcadian Commander for a battle that she's waged against the first werewolf for well over thirty lifetimes. Friendship will be forged and the pain of loss will be great, but the strength that Julian and Lauren show is truly a gratifying experience to share through their story.

The author has written a story that pulls two characters through hell and back and by the end you can't help but want more. Ms. Heaton delivered with a fabulous ending and a promise of more to come!

SETTING:

Love Immortal begins in a dark alley in the city of London. It isn't long before Lauren is whisked away to Paris, France to search out help in her upcoming battle against the original werewolf, Lycaon, then forced back to London and on to Greece.

WRITING:

This book has launched Felicity Heaton from being a yes-I've-read-her-books into a-must-read-author for me. She has truly bested all her previous books with the amount of detail, characterization and creativity that she has used to write Love Immortal. Yes, all her attention to detail is there, but her in-depth look into the hero and heroine is what brought her best out in this book. Ms. Heaton, please keep them coming!

CHARACTER:

Julian is a unique hero. The depth of pain he'd suffered reached through the pages and into my heart and mind. Normally it is the heroine that draws my attention for obvious reasons, but this time his story touched me deeper. He sent my heart racing with the wonderful moments of true happiness he experienced. Being from a life of chilling loneliness and death closed off to any human connection for so long, then to watch him open his heart to Lauren was an experience in itself. In this story was the heroine that had to prove herself worthy of a man so great. And Lauren definitely proved herself long before she even realized it herself. Her inner strength is exactly the type of heroine I love to read about. She drew out the best in everyone around her. The secondary characters brought an added bonus to the story that made it well rounded and very fun to read. Even the vampire, Morgan, was intriguing. Maybe he will even get his own story*hint*!!!

LAST THOUGHTS:

This story went beyond what I expected. The journey these two characters take is a tale you do not want to miss. I wholeheartedly recommend Love Immortal and if the hints are anything to go by, I can't wait until the next book to follow.
