FAVORITE LINE:

"And be sure to show up because this is one of my better secrets."

TEASER:

"Yes," he growled, and his eyes warned me not to play with him, not to incite him when he was this close to the edge. I was quiet as I watched him, watched that bizarre glow overtake his eyes and this time he didn't avert his gaze to hide it. No, he wanted me to see what I was doing to him, that there was something in him he couldn't control. I'd never been so turned on in my life. ~ Bram or maybe Knight with Dulcie?

PLOT:

A book that had me guessing page after page! A Tale of Two Goblins started out with an intriguing hook that pulled me in and kept me entertained throughout the entire book. Dulcie O'Neil is a fairy hard to keep up with as she fights to save her friends from a deadly encounter with a dreamstalker. In this scary tale of life or death, Dulcie not only discovers that life is not always black and white, she also discovers her deeper feelings towards a man in her life. As the story unfolds you are left guessing who will be the one to capture her heart be it Bram, Knight or maybe even an old friend that stirs up fond memories. I won't give spoilers!

She is faced with multiple decisions that will bring her to realize while friends might make wrong choices, the bond that was once there is not entirely severed and new bonds are waiting to be formed. She also learns the valuable lesson that it is not wrong to reach out for help when you have to. This was a lesson hard learned for me in life and when reading it in Dulcie's story I was there with her feeling her emotions along side her as she realized that friends are truly there to help you even when you are embarrassed or even fear reaching out to them.

As in the first book of the Dulcie O' Neil series, the author weaved together not only a fun read but also an exciting rush of emotions mixed with adventure. One minute I was laughing at Dulcie's witty charm and in the next flipping my digital pages looking to discover what happened next-fearing the worst while hoping for the best.

Not only are we treated to one heck of a thrill ride as we dive into Dulcie's world, we're also treated to some heavy and sensual moments that test Dulcie's patience as well as her emotions, leaving you panting for more no matter which man it is! By the end, the author wraps up one adventure while giving us a sneak peak at what is coming for Dulcie in her next book and it is a doosy! I can already tell there is a roller coaster ride of ups and downs with spills and chills waiting for her and us in book three!

SETTING:

A Tale of Two Goblins takes place in the small town of Splendor and Moon, a neighboring town. As the dreamstalker attacks those close to Dulcie she fears everyone she knows is in danger. Given the size of her small town this could me anyone and everyone...

WRITING:

H.P. Mallory's writing is a must read. Her first person point-of-view come across strong and did not leave out the importance of her secondary characters and their part in the story. I am a stickler for details and author's style lavishes her story with such devotion to the minute details that it brings to life her characters and story without fail. When I first picked up her series (Jolie Wilkins Series & Dulcie O'Neil Series) I was surprised such polished work was from an indie author and not a traditionally published author. Very seldom do I find any grammatical errors within her published books, and this is certainly true for A Tale Of Two Goblins.

CHARACTERS:

The main character and heroine of the story is a very head strong, bold and beautiful fairy, Dulcie O'Neil. Through the first book and now the second, she has come a long way from her quick temper and knee jerk reactions. Needless to say she has discovered what the price is when charging into a situation full of bravado instead of diplomacy and tact. Through her developing character she hasn't lost her ability to stand up for what she believes is right, a trait I love in her. She has morals and steadfastly lives by them, yet she is a woman and emotions can get her carried away. I loved following her through her latest adventure and seeing her grow and learn from her mistakes. It was interesting to see her inner thoughts on how, what she considered a lost friendship, turn around on her and end up releasing thoughts and emotions she doesn't know what to do with. I think this will be an interesting point to uncover and dive into in her next book.

In the first book I considered Knight Vander, a Loki, to be less than hero material. Not by much, mind you, however he was more of a brute than an alpha hero in the sense of his character. He treated Dulcie roughly at one point which had me confused as to how I ultimately felt about him at the end of book one. I thought he could be better and I was not disappointed in in the second book, A Tale Of Two Goblins. He grew in his ability to accept and show his emotions and feelings when it counted most. This, mixed with his alpha protectiveness concerning all things Dulcie, had me falling for him irrevocably. A hero Knight Vander has become!

Bram was no less sexy and devilish! He made me sit up and take notice every time he walked out on the page. His bad boy persona is what makes a woman want one for themselves and never look back! I didn't know what I wanted more at times, him to ravish Dulcie or sink his hot teeth into her neck and give her a run for her money. I'll leave it up to you to decide and discover...no spoilers here!

LAST THOUGHTS:

H.P. Mallory has added a gem to the Urban Fantasy genre with her Dulcie O'Neil Series. She's given every lover of the genre a series packed full of adventure, mixed it with a healthy helping of spicy attraction and topped it off with creatures that could very well be living among us unnoticed! A Tale Of Two Goblins shouldn't be missed!
