Longtime fans of Diana Palmer will definitely notice her style and characterizations. You just can’t help but smile when you realize that Diana Palmer has once again created a gruff, tough as nails, stubborn big rugged cowboy that has built a carefully constructed wall around his heart. But true to type this big guy is fated to meet his match in the new addition to the Long Tall Texan series, WYOMING BRAVE. Needless to say her wondrous folks will capture your attention as well as your heart.
We actually met Meredith Grayling in DEFENDER with her sister Isabel. Both sisters had been living under the watchful eye of their brutal father who never did learn the art of sparing the rod. Both Isabel and Meredith bore the scars of their fathers temper and rage. But in WYOMING BRAVE we learn that Meredith – Merrie has been sent to stay at the Colter ranch in Wyoming fleeing the hitman with her in his sights. The Grayling’s family has been marked by the son of their father’s last victim. Isabel is now considered safe but Merrie’s threat is very real.
So Merrie is now under the tight security of the ranch run by her friend Randall’s brother, Ren Colter. Ren has been told that this measure was necessary to keep Merrie’s stalker unaware of her location. Initially that is all Ren knows. But his gut tells him Merrie is in more danger than just a stalker. There is real palatable fear in this otherwise strong independent young woman. That puts Ren on high alert.
Problem with that is it means spending more time with Merrie – way too young for Ren – and his attraction is wrong on many levels – not the least that Merrie belongs to his brother Randall.
Merrie is not at all what Ren expected. Merrie was supposed to be a spoiled young woman – after all that was Randall’s type. But Merrie turns out to be a caring soul to people and critters. The animals and wild life all react positively to this young lady and Ren can’t help but find himself equally mesmerized.
WYOMING BRAVE by Diana Palmer is about an uncommon bravery in the path of evil. It is also about surviving and somehow flourishing under the wrath of abuse. In WYOMING BRAVE it is a battle of spirit against brutality – and luckily spirit wins. I don’t often suggest reading a series in order but I would be remiss in not telling readers to pick up a copy of DEFENDER where the Grayling story begins. WYOMING BRAVE absolutely stands on its own but the two book series is compelling.
The Wyoming men are back! In their quest for true love on the range, are these ranchers bold enough to open their hearts to the women under their protection?
Ren Colter may own an enormous ranch in Wyoming, but he scorns his wealth. He's closed himself off since his fiancée left him months ago, so he's shocked when he allows Meredith Grayling to stay with him. He tells himself it's only to protect the blonde beauty from a stalker, but Ren's alpha instincts soon kick in.
The last thing Merrie wants is a devastatingly handsome man like Ren lurking around her. He's too experienced, too appealing for her already shot nerves. What she needs is just to get away from it all: the man haunting her waking dreams and the one hunting her like an animal. But no woman escapes this Colter cowboy!
