Mystic Thunder

Cavanaugh Family series, #1

Mystic Thunder is the first novel in a trilogy that pulls you into a great story full of danger, paranormal abilities, and emotional turmoil. Rayne Cavanaugh is one of three identical sisters in which this series centers on her family’s unusual gifts. It is the complication of Rayne’s gift that sends her to the Great Smoky Mountains and onto a journey of the heart. Garrison is a complicated hero that wears his heart on his sleeve and is hunky enough to pull it off. The pain and grief he struggles with will pull you into his personal story as he deals with the emotions of losing loved ones and his struggle with the over-whelming attraction he has for his newest neighbor, Rayne. Talking to the dead has ruined any relationship Rayne has ever had, so with her new start in Mystic Waters she intends to leave that part of herself back in California. Fate has other plans for her and Garrison. While both are intending to move forward with their lives, they discover that together their hearts can survive the tribulations both past and present.

There is a murderer among the small town of Mystic Waters and the dead bodies are piling up. Rayne is being guided by a spirit to human remains, so keeping her ability a secret is becoming harder with each body found. She fears her secret could cost her to lose the man she loves. Garrison prays that ever body found will not be the nephew that he has been searching months for. Mystic Thunder is a story of family, faith, and the undeniable love between two people. J C Wardon weaves a great story with memorable characters and a small town life found in the breath-taking atmosphere of the Great Smoky Mountain. I look forward to reading the next sister’s story and finding out more about the murderer that is still living among the good people of Mystic Waters.
