"A Pirate's Bounty" is set in historical times when status meant a lot and a crime committed couldn't be proved without witnesses or hard evidence. It's a good thing for Noir that he'd managed to collect a ring proving his innocence to the King for the murder of his family. That ring, with a family crest on it, was his salvation. Lady Faryn was his meal ticket to gaining an audience with the king. Noir decided to take advantage of the time he had Faryn trapped on his ship and consummated with her multiple times.
Eventually, the sex became more and feelings blossomed. Just when it seemed they would be able to sail into the sunset, Faryn comes forward and tells Noir and the King that she knows who the murderer really is. It takes Noir a bit to decide he trusts Faryn and believes she had nothing to do with the deaths of his family.
This was a great historical and I would think very accurate to the time. Noir is a strong male character that women can't help but swoon for. Faryn is in a desperate situation and it would be hard for the readers not to sympathize. There's not a lot of action to the story since it seems to be more of a romance but the sex scenes are very erotic and steamy. There is some same-sex encounters towards the beginning that some readers may be wary of, as well as public sex. Other than those two occurrences, the book is general and non-offensive on the sexual acts. I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes pirates, historicals, or hot sex.
