The Summoner

The Dominic Grey Novels, #1

The Summoner is a very great book. You get our hero Dominic Grey. He is smart, strong and brave and sticks to what he believes in. I really like those traits in a hero. He also has delt with a tough past and made it to where he is today. The heroine is Nya. She's also a smart girl with a kind of sassiness that's not too over the top. I really liked how these two connected. They had a believable chemistry.

The action in this book is also really done well and exciting. Plus learning bits about Africa really brought it together. Then you also get some supernatural bits which gave it a creepy part. The villians were evil and creepy and not boring. In fact every character weather friend or enemy was interesting in their own way. This book did not get boring which I liked. Dominic and Nya really took a good amount of time to learn about and care for another. I liked how they worked together to solve the murder and had the help of their friends.

This was a great book with a great ending.

Book Blurb for The Summoner

A United States diplomat disappears in front of hundreds of onlookers while attending a religious ceremony in the bushveld of Zimbabwe.

Dominic Grey, Diplomatic Security special agent, product of a violent childhood and a worn passport, is assigned to investigate. Aiding the investigation is Professor Viktor Radek, religious phenomenologist and expert on cults, and Nya Mashumba, the local government liaison.

What Grey uncovers is a terrifying cult older than Western civilization, the harsh underbelly of a country in despair, a priest seemingly able to perform impossibilities, and the identity of the newest target.

The first work in a globe-hopping series whose protagonists investigate the world's most bizarre and dangerous cults, The Summoner is a stylish, haunting novel of mystery and suspense that will linger long after the last page is turned. 95,000 words.

"I moved a little outside my comfort zone with The Summoner, and I am glad I did. A blend of action, history, anthropology, thrills, and chills, all delivered with a mature, polished voice. I am eager for more from this author." -- Bestselling Kindle author Scott Nicholson
