Billie is a mortal woman with an extraordinary gift. She can find anyone at any time all she needs to know is what they look like. She doesn't even have to know their name just what they look like. She has had this ability all of her life and thought that everyone could do this until she found out differently in school. Now the only ones who knew she could do this were her father and 4 brothers. She has been raised to be tough like one of the boys and to go for what she wants. So when she is asked to go and find her brother by his wife and she meets a man named Royce, who obviously isn't quite human either, she takes the initiative and kisses him. He enjoys it, way too much for his liking, but tries to put some space between them as he doesn't want a relationship. Unfortunately, his body has other thoughts on the matter and he can't stop thinking about her. He really doesn't want another relationship though, as his first mate died and left him with an infant daughter to raise so that is what took up all of his time. Does he dare risk getting involved with someone again and go through all of the emotions again?
Billie goes to his house as she uses her special ability to figure out where he lives and kind of forces the issue between them and they end up in a compromising position. The only thing wrong is that she enjoys herself but he holds back and doesn't want to join his body with hers as then they would be full mates and unable to keep away from each other for long.
Royce can no longer deny his attraction to Billie, and really doesn't want to. Billie seems to be the right person for him, now if he can just get through her family who all want to protect her at any cost. Now he has to claim Billie completely as his mate or he will go mad with wanting her so much.
Will Royce learn to trust himself and let himself love again? Will Billie be able to get the man she wants as her own? Or will her special ability or her family get in their way? What is she going to think when she finds out the truth about Royce, that he is a werewolf and has lived for more than 1500 years, and that he was mated once and still to this day protects the generations that came from his daughter? You will just have to read it and find out. I can't wait to see if there are any more coming from this author as she really drew me into this story and I really cared about the characters and wanted to know more about them and their lives. All I can say is this is a lifetime keeper!!
Billie first met Royce at Wulf’s Den while there to drag her drunken brother home to his wife. Even though she knows he is attracted to her, Royce refuses to see her again. With four older brothers, and being a personal trainer at her family’s gym, Billie is not the type of woman to let a man she wants slip through her fingers.
Royce knows Billie is his mate, but with her being a mortal, he fights the attraction he feels for her. He already lost a mate who wasn’t a werewolf and doesn’t want to take the chance of getting hurt.
As Royce’s feelings grow for Billie another male werewolf stalks Royce. Thinking Royce’s blood is the key to a magic spell, he will do anything to obtain it, even if he has to use Billie to get it.
