This is the second book in the Astropolis series and I would strongly recommend starting with the first book before reading this one.
It is an epic soap opera military science fiction story that has a lot of twists. A lot happens in a short time. It is very action packed and delves into deep themes dealing with humanity, politics, and morality. While there were many things to enjoy in this book, I had some problems with it. I struggled with this book as I found the writing to be a bit too “flowery” or descriptive to the point that I would lose interest after each paragraph. I do believe this is more a personal preference on writing styles and his just doesn’t work for me.
Imre Bergamasc is the First Prime of the Returned Continuum, ruling Earth and the far-flung regions of the galaxy. But dissidents and saboteurs threaten to bring his reign to an end.
