Robin Kaye creates heroes who I always adore, no matter what they do or say. So I wasn’t surprised when I met Logan Blaise and immediately fell. In YOU’RE THE ONE, book 2 in the Bad Boys of Red Hook series, the author gives us a hero who can’t stop the flood of feelings when it comes to the new chef at his family’s restaurant. We get a heroine who’s determined to prove she can do what she wants without her family name. When they finally give in, the sparks and heartfelt words fly.
Logan Blaise is one of those characters that swears he can’t feel, but when the right woman comes along, it’s like a floodgate has been opened. For a man that was so resistant to allowing any emotions to show, the minute he laid eyes on Skye he became a walking talking emotional mess. Skye helped Logan let go of the twenty seven years of hurt from being abandoned by his birth parents. He learned to love and be loved.
Skye Maxwell was a woman determined to prove to the male members of her family that she was just as good as them and deserved to have a kitchen of her own. Her determination brought her to Red Hook where she found a group of people who openly embraced her skills in the kitchen and who let her keep her secrets until she was ready to share.
This was a great story and one that I didn’t want to put down. The characters in this book will grab ahold of you, making you laugh, get angry and hope that Logan and Skye would get their act together and go after what they wanted. An absolute joy to read.
Logan Blaise temporarily left his life and fiancée in Napa to care for his ailing father and the family restaurant. He figured in a month he’d be back to what he knew and finalizing his wedding plans. But when his chef quits and a small, pushy bundle of energy demands to see his kitchen before she accepts the chef position he hadn’t offered her, the life he had mapped out for himself suddenly went off course. Skye Maxwell is trying to prove, without the help of her family name, that she’s as good as her brothers in the kitchen. While Logan gives her the opportunity to cook, he also offers her the one thing she wasn’t looking for. The only question is, can both of them grasp on to the person that makes them feel like their home?
