This was the funniest book I’ve read in a long time. I will preface this by saying you have to like rooting for the guy who is 95% of the time the biggest jerk on the face of the earth and completely lacks a filter on his mouth. Told from Drew Evans perspective, Drew is rude, crass, annoying, cute and funny at various times during his story. But it’s a story about a guy who was used to having is way with a woman for one night and then going on his merry finding and falling, hook, line and sinker, for “The One”.
Kate Brooks is the new Investment Banker at Drew’s firm. He’s the top dog, so he doesn’t like it when his father gives Kate the chance to win the biggest account to come into the firm. Competition ensues (and some of what they do to each other in the spirit of competition is hysterical) and so does a very mutual attraction. They fight it. Drew definitely fights it (thinking he has the flu. LOL), but when they finally stop their bickering and oneupmanship, they realize exactly what they have in the other.
I found this to be absolutely delightful. I loved the male POV and spent the wee hours of the morning laughing hysterically at what Drew said, thought or did. This has definitely made me an Emma Chase fan and I look forward to more from Drew and Kate.
Drew Evans the man everyone else looks up to. He’s got the looks, the money and can seduce women with a single look. But when he meets his match in the new Investment Banker at his firm, Drew’s met his match. Suddenly, the man who can get whoever he wants is having to work to get the woman who’s caught his attention. Drew is about to get a lesson is what it takes to win and keep the woman who will change his life.
In New York Times bestselling author Emma Chase’s sizzling and hilarious debut novel, Drew Evans—gorgeous, arrogant, irreverent, and irresistibly charming—meets his match in new colleague Kate Brooks.
Drew Evans is handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He’ll tell you he has the flu. But we all know that’s not really true.
Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.
Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.
