I always enjoy discovering a new author who remind me of the joys of reading an entertaining and engaging book. Valerie Bowman has done both of those things with the wonderful story of the willful Miss Annie Andrews and her temporary guardian, the Earl of Ashbourne.
What I loved most about this story was the dialogue between Valerie and Jordan. It was witty, funny and the perfect display of the spirit both of these characters had. Annie may have worn her emotions and thoughts on her sleeve for all to see, but it was all that which forced Jordan to realize that everything he thought frivolous and an ideal of poets and musicians was exactly what he wanted.
This was an absolutely delightful book and an author that I look forward to reading more from.
