Impulse, #1

I really loved Inertia Impulse by Amelia C. Gormley. In fact the only bad thing I could say about it was that it was too short. I wanted more. I was happy to find out that this is a series and book two is probably on its way. That is the best news to me. Inertia: Impulse book one is about a handy man named Derrick who has been celibate by choice for ten years. He eventually meets successful gay man Gavin.

Gavin had just came out of a bad relationship. He hires Derrick to fix up the shelves for his office and the two hit it off right away. Together they discovered their sexuality and break through the comfort zones they placed on their lives.

Due to FTC regulations I must say I have received a free e book copy of this novel. It has in no way effected my judgment or my review of this book.

I would still love this book even if I had to pay for it on amazon; which is where this authors books can be found. I recommend inertia: Impulse to anyone who loves m/m romance or B.D.S.M. It’s a treat if you like them both though not much B.D.S.M goes on in book one, you can tell it is clearly heading there.

Book Blurb for Inertia

An Object At Rest

Quiet, down-to-earth Detroit handyman Derrick Chance has had enough loss for a lifetime and he has no intention of ever risking his heart again. Living alone in the old house his grandparents left him, with only his dog and a few close friends for companionship, he has written off the possibility of romance or even sex. He refuses to consider himself lonely, or wonder what he might be missing. His life is organized, predictable, and, best of all, risk-free.

Until the day he installs shelves for accountant Gavin Hayes. With his contradictory combination of confidence and self-doubt, Gavin draws Derrick in with an intensity he's never known. As undeniable as gravity, Derrick finds himself falling for Gavin in defiance of all his usual slow and methodical ways. But Gavin carries wounds of his own. Fresh from an emotionally abusive relationship that ended with a dangerous betrayal, his future is far from certain. Can Derrick choose passion over safety, and let himself believe that Gavin is worth the risk?

This is the first book in a series. Book two is titled Acceleration.
