The Shift

When Cash was young his father knew something bad was coming. So he took his children and taught them how to live off the grid and to fight as a team. He wanted to prepare them for the Shift. It was coming. Cash and his family would travel wherever they were needed to fight the monsters who came through the Shift and terrorized and destroyed wherever they appeared.

During one such battle Cash is knocked into a deep puddle of green ooze and is rescued by Toby. The attraction is instant and intense between the two men. But Cash's father tells Cash to stay away from Toby. But Cash can't and is there to save Toby from a kidnapping attempt. Both men are on the run from there on out until Cash learns all he can about Toby and his past. Plus about the organization that Cash and his family work for.

Cash and his family put an ultimatum to the corporation they work for and Toby is able to come out of hiding. But will the corporation leave Toby alone or will Cash and Toby loose each other forever?

The Shift has a pretty good storyline and it flowed fairly well throughout. Of course the sexual encounters did help after both men were able to get past Toby's reluctance and fear of hurting Cash. I will recommend this one for the good read it is.

Book Blurb for The Shift

Two men, too many monsters.

Raised off the grid, Cash has trained all his life to protect humanity from The Shift—a mysterious force that creates monsters capable of unspeakable destruction. For Cash and his warrior family, risks are just part of the job and death is an ever-present possibility.

When his daredevil tendencies defeat a monster but leave him over his head in a puddle of green goo, Cash figures his number is up…until he’s plucked to safety by a devastatingly handsome stranger.

Toby needs no weapons to fight The Shift, that’s why he’s perfected the art of laying low. Sudden moves draw unwanted attention, but he can’t stand by and watch Cash drown. Big mistake—it isn’t long before Cash is returning the favor, rescuing him from kidnappers intent on harnessing his genetic enhancements.

On the run with danger nipping at their heels, romantic sparks fly between them. But there’s no trust without truth, and things get complicated when Toby reveals everything Cash has fought against is a lie. The time has come to decide who’s the real monster—and whose side he’s on.

Warning: Super-romance, Super-sex, Super-heroism. Super-hot. Moments of Super-cute.
