Jamie is a gay werewolf. Adding that to the mix of racism and gay rights doesn't make for a good life for him. Werewolves have come out to society and have been accepted. New laws have been put in place for the guidance of society. Jamie loves sex and he likes frequenting the bars for one night stands. He meets Rob during one of his bar jaunts. Even though he tries to keep it as a one night stand he goes searching for Rob again the next evening.
Rob is a gay cop and part of the Wolf/Human task force. His job is to protect wolves from humans and humans from wolves. He's seen it all. When he meets Jamie at a club and is attracted to the young man he goes back for seconds.
When he learns that Jamie is a wolf he demands Jamie leave. Rob doesn't want to mix personally with a wolf as a lover. But the case he's working on is a missing person's case involving young werewolves. Rob finds that Jamie might be able to help with the case.
When Jamie is in danger though Rob does all he can do to find and save the young werewolf.
Will Rob be able to save Jamie before it's too later or will he loose Jamie forever?
Shattered Secrets was pretty well written. I enjoy it a lot and will gladly recommend it to those who like Shapeshifter romances with redemption, love and forgiveness. The rescue and danger ramped up the story and made it a good read.
Rob is a cop and has just passed his thirtieth birthday, being promoted to a special police task force specializing in wolf / human cases. He sees it all. The seedy underbelly of city life, the fights, the murders, and the parts of human / wolf interaction that people would rather ignore. He meets a young man, Jamie, at a club and embarks on the hottest one night stand of his life. Little does he know that his lover is a shifter. He has no worries with wolves, but interspecies relationships are not on his to-do list.
When a case involving kidnappings of young werewolves lands on Rob's desk the ugly face of the werewolf sex trade is something he has to deal with. With Jamie seemingly at the centre of it all can Rob push past his prejudices and keep his lover alive?
