Julian Parker is impoverished and knows that he needs to marry a woman with a fortune to save his family from debtor’s prison. When he returns to London to find a bride he meets Oscar Woodhaven instead. The attraction between the two men is sweet and intense. Julian knows he must marry but he needs Oscar’s sweetness as well.

Oscar Woodhaven has been rich all his life and its brought nothing but tension in his family and heartache he can't ignore. When he meets Julian Parker he thinks that maybe his life isn't so bad after all. The two men become lovers and Oscar finds out that Julian still plans on marrying for a fortune. He asks Julian to leave and won't see Julian when he comes to him for forgiveness.

Years later Julian returns to London to try and win Oscar back. Will he succeed or will he fail again to win the love of his life?

Brook Street Fortune Hunter is the second book in the series. It can be read alone but has the main characters from the first book in it. You might get a little lost if you don’t start at the beginning. The storyline was OK. I thought it was a little slow moving and there needed to be something added. I’m not sure exactly what, but something was missing. Those who love historicals might get more out of this book than I did. Historicals are more on the borderline of likes for me, but I like to give them a chance every once in a while. So do give this one a chance if historical are your thing.

Book Blurb for Fortune Hunter

London, 1822

Impoverished Julian Parker returns to London with one goal: marry an heiress. He'll do whatever it takes, even if it means denying his desire for men. After all, with a fortune comes happiness and social acceptance—which have eluded Julian his entire life.

The only things a vast fortune has brought Oscar Woodhaven are greedy relatives and loneliness. At twenty-one years of age, he has everything a man could possibly want—except someone to love him. When he meets devastatingly handsome Julian Parker, he believes his luck has turned.

Between Oscar's lavish gifts and their searing-hot nights, Julian is caught between what he thinks he needs and what his heart truly desires. But when a betrayal threatens to tear them apart, Julian discovers he'll do whatever it takes to convince Oscar the greatest fortune of all is love.
