After having his heart broken by the first man whom Inspector Connor Kelly had fallen in love with has made him a very bitter and wary man. But because of Connors past heartbreak Eli has a hard time getting thru to Connor. Then the man from Connor's past shows up. Eli had thought he might have broken thru Connor's walls. When Eli goes home Connor must decide to either let him go or follow and take a risk.
Can Connor though breakthrough his past pain to see the love before him? or will he let it destroy what could be with Eli?
Beached Hearts has a good storyline, but it would have even been better if there wasn't so many woes in the attitudes of the main characters. Neither were really likable characters. The love scenes were passionate, but that wasn't enough to carry a great storyline. Still, an interesting book.
Inspector Conor Kelly’s heart broke and his life fell into disarray seven years ago when his father disowned him and his lover Liam left him. Now Conor is fighting both old, lingering pain and a new, fierce attraction to Eli Sanders, a marine biologist—just like Liam—who is only in Ireland for a short time to study the unfortunate death of a whale. Conor will have to find the courage to face the demons of his past, because if he lets Eli go without making his feelings plain, it may very well be Conor's last chance at love.
