Vishous, son of the Bloodletter, is cold, unfeeling, brilliant, and handsome. He never had use for feelings before, save for his best friend Butch. He fights the feelings he has for Butch. But one night, Vishous receives a mortal injury after fighting the enemy of his race, and lands in the care of a human surgeon, Jane Whitcomb.
Soon V realizes that what he feels for Butch may not be love at all, as he has his 'Brothers' kidnap Jane to care for him because of a vision. Jane soon learns to stop being angry at Vishous and starts to care for him. But a destiny heaped on him by the Mother of their race threatens to separate them permanently, causing Vishous to lose the only woman he ever loved.
Lover Unbound is the fifth book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J R Ward. It’s about a race of vampire warriors charged to protect their race from extinction from "The Lessening Society". They are an evil race of once-human un-dead, created by the evil incarnate Omega. In my opinion, this is the best in the series. I've always loved Vishous, or "V" as he's also known as. It was high time his book came out and that he had his HEA. This is V's story, and explains how he got the way he did from his brutal upbringing in his father's warcamp. Jane is the perfect female for him. This was a great story, with a couple of other back plots about JM and others. It’s wonderfully written as are all of JR’s books. This book contains one of the hottest bathroom sex scenes ever written! This scene is definitely number one on my top ten list and so is this book!! If I were stuck on a deserted island and could only have one book, this would be it! If I could give it ten stars I would!!!
This book was originally released in 2007 and is being re-released this year in Hard Cover.
Ruthless and brilliant, Vishous son of the Bloodletter possesses a destructive curse and a frightening ability to see the future. As a pretrans growing up in his father's war camp, he was tormented and abused. As a member of the Brotherhood, he has no interest in love or emotion, only the battle with the Lessening Society. But when a mortal injury puts him in the care of a human surgeon, Dr. Jane Whitcomb compels him to reveal his inner pain and taste true pleasure for the first time- until a destiny he didn't choose takes him into a future that cannot include her.
