Hunter

Murder On Magnolia Island Trilogy Book 2

"Hunter" is the second book in BJ Wane’s Magnolia Island series and I tell you what...I thought I wanted Logan LeMaster all for my very own, but Hunter? *sighing longingly* I’ll tell you, I’m very jealous of Chloe. So far this series has been positively phenomenal. I love that there isn’t a long lag time between books. One month is doable for a suspense series. By that point I’m just chomping at the bit to find out who the killer is.

Hunter fishes Chloe out of the water when she foolishly takes a boat out in a storm. Though truth be told, if having Hunter rescue me was the outcome, I’d probably do it as well! Chloe has a poor self image of herself due to being curvy and having a bum knee, thanks to a car accident. Her last dom kicked her to the curb for both.

After Hunter finds her in the play area, he takes advantage of her submissiveness and his attraction to attempt to get answers from her, but she’s stubborn. Lucky for her, Hunter is even more so. Chloe just happens to have been friends with Lynn, the sub who was murdered, and she wants answers. Hunter and Chloe get closer, but Hunter also worries that Chloe may become a target.

So. Who is the killer? Or killers? Sadly, no answer here. Though, I honestly don’t know that I’m too sad that I didn’t find a concrete answer. That just means we get another book! After all, there is still another LeMaster. Bring on Ryder Lemaster next! Yes Please!

Book Blurb for Hunter

After rescuing a woman from the storm-tossed waters surrounding his family island, Hunter Lemaster grows suspicious of Chloe Markham’s motives for being out in the inclement weather. When his stranded guest exhibits signs of submissiveness and neglected need, her shy demeanor draws on the strict Dom side of him and he can’t resist giving her what she so desperately needs. Taking advantage of her vulnerable state, he uses his expertise to question her, but is still unable to get the full truth from her.

After returning to Charleston from her ill-fated trip to Magnolia Island, Chloe resigns herself to returning to La Rouge, the club her best friend introduced her to. After getting herself into a bind of her own making, Chloe is shocked when Hunter Lemaster swoops in to rescue her. The truth is now out about why she was so close to his island, and Hunter agrees to let Chloe accompany him back to Magnolia when his friends return so she can assist in their continued search for a murderer. A threat against Chloe at the end of the weekend proves they are on to something, and also convinces Hunter to keep Chloe close – for her safety and his pleasure.
