Dark Immortal

Immortals, #3

Five years earlier, Diana Latimer was working on a subway tunnel project when she heard noises. Upon investigating, she finds an emaciated, crazed, and near dead man hanging up on a wall by chains who call's out to her to release him, over and over, in her mind. So much so it almost kills her as he takes over. But she manages to stand up to him and he let's her go to get the tools to release him...

Currently, Alric and Diana are happily married, but Diana is lying in a deep sleep from a Vampire's psychic attack on her which left her injured. Alric watches over her night and day, and when she finally awakens, she can't remember a thing. That includes Alric, or the last five years that they have been together.

But as much as Alric wishes he could spend time getting her to remember, there are darker forces at play, and her life is at stake from something much more insidious. So Alric has to do everything he can to get her to remember their marriage, even if that includes using his body to do it.

Dark Immortal is the third book in the Immortals series by J. k. Coi. This was a very enjoyable read. I did find myself wondering more about Diana's story with Alric during the five years they were together. Still this was a wonderfully written story and definitely a keeper. The characters from the first two books made an appearance and hopefully we will be seeing the others have their own books as well.

Book Blurb for Dark Immortal

Diana freed Alric from his prison and the insanity his captivity inflicted upon him. She healed him with her passion, and now she lies broken after a vampire attack, locked deep inside herself where he cannot reach her.

The huge, muscled man leaning over the strange bed where Diana awakes is straight out of nightmares full of blood and pain. Yet she’s drawn to him, her body yearning for him even as her mind struggles to make sense of a lust she can’t recall.

Alric has no intention of giving up on the woman who never stopped fighting for him. His one hope is that time and his familiar touch will help her heal and remember. But with a demon god poised to tip the balance of power, time is not on their side.
