Kernel of Truth

A Popcorn Shop Mystery, #1

Rebecca Anderson opens a gourmet popcorn store after her marriage to a celebrity chef fails back in her hometown of Grand Lake Ohio. The woman who owns the chocolate shop next door is an old family friend, and it’s not long before the two women are thinking of combining their businesses. But when the woman is discovered dead on the floor of her chocolate shop, the victim of an apparent robbery, Rebecca isn’t so sure. And as suspects start popping up, she knows she’d better solve this in a jiffy – before she’s next….

This is the debut book in a new series that holds a lot of promise. The plot is well thought out and the characters are quirky and interesting. I especially liked the heroine’s poodle, Sprocket and am looking forward to the next installment – four stars – ROCCO LOTEMPIO
