A Fright to the Death

A Family Fortune Mystery, #3

After finally reconnecting with her former boyfriend, Mac, Clyde Fortune is looking forward to a romantic getaway with him in Mexico – until their flight is cancelled. Instead of sipping Margaritas under the bright sun, they find themselves snowed in with their families at – gasp – a haunted hotel. Clyde’s mother Rose and her Aunt Vi are enchanted with the legend of the hotel’s ghost – until the power goes out and a body turns up!

I liked this series right from the start and this book only enhances the feeling. Eastman weaves a tale with overtones of Psycho and every creepy ghost movie I can remember into a well plotted character driven novel. As always love the use of tarot cards and Aunt Vi, the pet psychic, is entertaining as always. Also love the way Eastman has developed the romance between Clyde and Mac! Warning: Don’t read on a stormy night! Four stars. – ROCCO Lotempio
