This is the second installment in Ms. Frost's Night Prince Series. I really enjoy this spin off of the Night Huntress series starring Prince Vlad. Vlad is a very old fashioned man and Leila is a modern woman. It's fun to watch her try and pull him into the modern world. They are both stubborn and Vlad is very much stuck in his ways. This is a series that I will be rereading many times over. The next Ms. Frost book will be out August 30th and will be A Night Huntress titled Up From the Grave.
Leila loves Vlad but after their last battle with Vlads enemy it has left her with her powers not working right. The only thing Leila wants from Vlad is his love and since he can't or won't give her that she leaves to go back to her old carnival troupe. When she gets there she finds out that she has been replaced. Then someone tries to kill her by blowing up her trailer. The problem is she doesn't know if it was an enemy of Vlad or Vlad himself wanting revenge against her for leaving him.
Vlad loved one and his wife died in his arms and since then he vowed never to love again. He told Leila that he would give her anything she could ever want but the one thing he could not give her was love. When Vlad gets word that Leila has been killed he rushes to where her body is. When he finds out she is alive but has been kidnapped he rushes to rescue her. They have to find out who is after her, is it one of Vlads enemies or something more personal? Vlad is determined to protect her and prove his love to her.
Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges . . .
Leila's psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn't sure what the future holds. If that weren't enough, her lover Vlad has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she's also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever--especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won't admit that he loves her . . .
Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity . . .
Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust-- the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity . . .
