Tamed by a Laird

Finding herself agreeing to marry a man she knows she will never love, Jenny Easdale only wants one last adventure before she is forced to settle down. Jenny takes off with the group of traveling minstrel troupe. The freedom she gets is very intoxicating, but she knows it will not last for long. But then Jenny's soon to be brother-in-law is sent to bring her back to her groom. Sir Hugh Douglas has vowed to never fall for another woman after the death of his first beloved wife. What Sir Hugh finds when he caught up with Jenny comes as something of a shock. Jenny is not what Sir Hugh expected to find in a young well breed woman. Jenny is witty, smart and brave. Sir Hugh finds himself starting to fall for Jenny and her for him. Now they have to find out who is plotting against Scotland in order to remain together and to protect those they love.

This story is set in the 14th-century Scotland. The two main characters are touching. The characters from the traveling minstrel troupe are also well portrayed as they play matchmakers between Jenny and Hugh. Ms Scott has put together a well-told story.
