This is the twelfth installment of Ms. Spear's Heart of the Wolf series. This is a Christmas themed love story. Both characters have an issue with the season and have not celebrated it in years. The love story between the two is very well told and there is just the right amount of a mystery to keep you on edge. I enjoy the world that Ms. Spears has created with her wolfs. I can't wait for the next installment in this series, Silence of the Wolf, which is set for March 2014.
Anna Johnson is an undercover operative and works with a team of other wolf shifters. The team is led by the grey alpha, Hunter. Anna is a lone wolf and does not belong to a pack. Anna and her team are sent on a rescue mission. She nor the team have no idea that they are being shadowed by a retired Navy seal. Bjornolf Jorgenson is asked by Hunters sister to shadow the team on this latest mission. Bjornolf plans to stay in the background until the mission goes wrong. So he steps in to help. Bjornolf has had a thing for Anna ever since they worked a mission together. After the rescue mission if over, Hunter pairs up the two of them to go undercover. It seems that an orphaned teenager that Bjornolf helped last year has scented two dead bodies but they cannot find them. Anna and Bjornolf are to go to the Christmas tree farm where Nathan works and see what they can find out. They are posing as not only a newly wedded couple but are also Nathan's aunt and uncle. Their job is to keep Nathan safe and find out about the dead bodies. Bjornolf is hoping to make the newlywed status a real thing. Anna is attracted to Bjornolf but doesn't think she deserves to be happy. Can Bjonolf convince Anna that they can be a family for Nathan but that they also belong with the grey wolf pack?
A holiday paranormal romance with the hot combination of a sexy Navy SEAL hero with werewolves, from USA Today bestselling author Terry Spear.
SEAL Bjornolf Jorgenson and undercover operative Anna Johnson get off to a rocky start when they're tasked to play newlyweds preparing for the holidays while investigating a SEAL's murder at a Christmas tree farm. Anna and Bjornolf are both dreading the season, and are happy to work instead of celebrate. Together they learn that a little Christmas cheer can become so much more when you have someone special under the mistletoe.
