I love Cynthia Eden because she brings a new voice with erotic tales in her paranormal stories. Obviously I was nervous about her foray in to romantic suspense. Fellow fans have no worries. Deadly Fear was a pretty cool read for Eden's first suspense.
Monica Davenport works for the FBI as a profiler. Specifically she focuses on patterns created by serial killers. Monica does it because she has to and feels compelled to stop killers. Unfortunately dealing with the dark side of nature is wearing on her. Luke Dante is an FBI agent as well. He and Monica had a hot and heavy affair in the past. He was the only man Monica had ever let close. Now the two have been teamed up to track down a murderer who seems to know more about Monica and her secrets then he should.
I really enjoyed this. The plot was pretty familiar and a popular one in romantic suspense right now, but I think Cynthia Eden does a great job of moving the story along and making a reader fall in love with the characters. Her paranormals are still my fave but I will continue to read the other stories released in this trilogy
