I loved Gabe's story, I didn’t think Pamela Clare could top that novel. Kat and Gabe vs this new couple, not possible. Well, sit back and prepare to enjoy. Breaking Point not only has a hot cover, it has a hot new couple on the scene. If you've been following the I team then you are aware of New Orleans native Natalie Benoit. If you're new to this series don't worry, Clare does an excellent job of making this a standalone but there are secondary characters present with lots of dynamics. I highly recommend each book in the I Team series before this.
Ok, back to basics, Natalie is taking a mini vacation in Mexico. Things turn upside down when she's snatched off a tour bus and thrown into a jail without a by your leave. Her Spanish is rusty at best and it’s only the strange voice of a mysterious fellow prisoner that gives her strength to start planning and thinking of a way out. OMG. Chief Deputy US Marshall Zaccharia is H-O-T even though he's been tortured and knows his days are limited now that his jailers can’t get him to reveal any intel on a missing shipment of cocaine. Natalie and Zack work together to escape and begin their adventure.
I don’t want to give away too much of the story but it is not to be missed. These two fall fast and hard for one another but Clare makes the catching up of old characters just as exciting while not intruding on the main couple. You'd think Julian was settled down with a wife and kids -nope still the baddest of the bad, you think Marc is all rosy-nope he can still roll with the rest of them. And Gabe big sigh. The rock jock is present and accounted for in this novel showing that he is still THE MAN.
I can’t wait to see what the author has planned for Holly because I did not expect to enjoy Natalie's story as much as I did. Clare does romance old school style and I’m loving the day I discovered her.
Denver journalist Natalie Benoit and Deputy U.S. Marshal Zach McBride find themselves captives of a bloodthirsty Mexican drug cartel. Working together, they escape through the desert toward the border, the attraction between them flaring hotter than the Sonoran sun. They fight to stay ahead of the danger that hunts them as forces more powerful than they can imagine conspire to destroy them both...
