Elise has just moved to Los Angles, California, with her parents and sisters. As if being the new girl isn't hard enough, how about your mom being the principal of Coral Tree Prep, an exclusive high-end school? How will this affect her social life as Elise tries to make friends with the snobby, status-conscious students? When her sister starts to spend time with the best friend of Derek, the reigning prince of Coral Tree Prep, Elise is thrown together with him a lot. Will Elise fall for his easy charm and good looks or will she go for the school outcast, Webster Grant? When you go to school with the children of celebrities, what can happen?
"Epic Fail" is an entertaining novel that examines the difficult world of teens and school. Even at a school filled with the children of famous parents, there are still the many layers of popularity and outcasts that every school has. I loved reading as Elise tried to find the group and people that was right for her, and her heart. I was definitely not expecting all the twists that this book had. I am eagerly looking forward to Claire Lazebnik's next book.
Will Elise’s love life be an epic win or an epic fail?
At Coral Tree Prep in Los Angeles, who your parents are can make or break you. Case in point:
As the son of Hollywood royalty, Derek Edwards is pretty much prince of the school—not that he deigns to acknowledge many of his loyal subjects.
As the daughter of the new principal, Elise Benton isn’t exactly on everyone’s must-sit-next-to-at-lunch list.
When Elise’s beautiful sister catches the eye of the prince’s best friend, Elise gets to spend a lot of time with Derek, making her the envy of every girl on campus. Except she refuses to fall for any of his rare smiles and instead warms up to his enemy, the surprisingly charming social outcast Webster Grant. But in this hilarious tale of fitting in and flirting, not all snubs are undeserved, not all celebrity brats are bratty, and pride and prejudice can get in the way of true love for only so long.
