I found The Bells by Richard Harvell one of those books that a reviewer loves to find. The writing, the plot, and the characters all come together into one of the best books I've read in a long time. It is a beautiful, moving, fascinating story that pulled me in and didn't let go. I could see the story unfolding in each scene and chapter. When the end came it was a shock, not because there was a wild twist or anything like that, but because I was so engrossed with the story I wanted it to keep going. This story of a boy with an extraordinary voice is a romance, a biography, a historical, and even something of a thriller in places. I definitely would give The Bells a try. It will be joining my other keepers to be read over and over. A 5 all the way, I'd give it two 5's if I could.
Dazzling, enchanting, and epic, this is the confession of a thief, kidnapper, and unlikely lover—a boy with the voice of an angel whose exquisite sense of hearing becomes both his life's tragic curse and its greatest blessing.
