Alexandra Hawkins teases and tantalizes readers with the ever popular twin game in this fabulous historical romance. Olivia Lydall is an admirable heroine even while I was cringing along with her over her embarrassing escapade I couldn't help but love the backbone she displayed. Justin Reeve Netherwood, Earl of Kempthorn is a complicated man and I admit that I wasn't sure how I felt about him. I disliked his deception but the more I read the more I understood him and his motivations. I loved witnessing their interactions the heat and the heart and the hilarity were all fascinating.
I was so happy this story had so many different elements, action, adventure, friendship, family, sensuality, sexuality and some humor. The supporting cast not only provided entertainment but background for the lead couple. I particularly enjoyed Thorn's friends and cannot wait to see them make reappearances in future works by the author. Gideon Netherwood is an engaging character and I cannot wait to see him get his very own adventure because I thoroughly enjoyed meeting him. I believe this is a story I will read again and again.
The Story: Justin Reeve Netherwood, Earl of Kempthorn believes that his neighbor Miss Olivia Lydall is not the appropriate match for his twin brother Gideon so he sets out to make sure the too stay apart. Thorn pretends to be his brother and soon he finds himself with feelings for Olivia but he's made a mess of things and has no idea how he can convince Olivia he's the man for her when he's been masquerading as his own brother.
