Shana Galen Delights with this wonderful historical romance. Ewan Mostyn and Lady Lorraine are a fabulous lead couple and I couldn't get enough of them. Ewan is an ideal hero, strong and practically silent, he's a wounded soul, a hero and yet he has a heart that is so big and an ingrained goodness that makes him the man he is. Lady Lorraine is spoiled and spontaneous and could have easily been annoying, however her foibles just make her more charming in an authentic manner. While she was an interesting character I found myself completely drawn to Ewan, his strong personality and history had me holding my breath hoping he would find a happily ever after even though he seemed determined he wouldn't get one. I enjoyed meeting his friends and am looking forward to reading their individual adventures. And as a bonus for romantics there is another love story interwoven. They are all fascinating and I bet they each have stories that will draw me in as fully as Ewan's did. I liked this story for its unique characters and storyline. If you are a fan of entertaining stories with substance this is one to read.
The Story: Lady Lorraine is determined to marry the man of her dreams. The fact that her parents believe he is a scoundrel doesn't deter her from trying to elope. To foil any plans she may have her father hires war hero and aristocrat Ewan Mostyn as her bodyguard. He might be guarding her body, but who will guard her heart?
