Maggie Nash spins a passionate story full of vim and vigor. This is an enjoyable tale reminiscent of a fabulous Indiana Jones movie. The reader jumps right into the action alongside the heroine and it never lets up until the last word. Magda is a larger than life leading lady, she is as far away from a damsel in distress as you can get and yet her strong character in no way weakens the hero's. Stone is a virile man who isn't threatened by Magda's capabilities. I will admit that I did find it very distracting that both characters seemed to think a lot with their libidos while they were in such a dangerous situation. I'm all for getting my groove on but perhaps it isn't such a great idea to spend so much time thinking about hot and steamy sex when you are being chased through the humid jungle by armed adversaries. The sexual chemistry was believable it just occasionally felt inappropriate. If you are a fan of the Tomb Raider movies or the television series Relic Hunter you will definitely enjoy this story. I will be interested to see what adventures Magda's cohorts get up to and I will admit that I'm still blushing at their party antics.
Magda's task in the Penang rainforest is to recover an ancient relic that just might threaten the world's peace -- running into her ex certainly threatens hers. Vincent Stone broke her heart not so long ago and Magda isn't too happy to find he still sets her girly parts on fire. But they have no time to explore their still strong attraction as they need to find the sacred object while avoiding capture so they team up. But will the union last after the mission is over?
