Kathy Lyons heats up the suburbs with this sexy sports read. I cannot say enough how much I loved this book. Tori Williams is such an affable heroine, I loved how easy it was to relate to her even though we had absolutely nothing in common, she is intelligent and determined and downright entertaining. Mike Giamaria is a hero worth losing sleep over. He is dedicated and kind-hearted and so darn engaging. The sparks between these two are amazing and I couldn't get enough of their banter. This story had me laughing out loud and tearing up at intervals and I couldn't have been happier while reading it. In fact I still have a huge smile on my face a few days later. I couldn't put it down and it truly was worth staying up late into the night to finish it. The settings were detailed without bringing down the action and the supporting characters were so intricate to the story and provided entertainment and insight. I'd love to see some of them set their own starring roles. I don't want to give any details away but my favorite part was the ending and it left me in such a wonderful, feel-good mood, just what I'm looking for in a book. I highly recommend you read this one because even if you only love it half as much as I did, you will still love it.
Tori Williams has had enough of living the way others want her to so she breaks from her boyfriend and decides to renovate her newly inherited house while on summer sabbatical. She's determined to do it on her own even if her family believes she can't handle it. She is grateful when her neighbor steps in to catch her as she falls from the roof. NBA player Mike Giamaria is supposed to be recovering from an injury but rescuing the damsel in distress sets him back. However he finds he can't stop thinking about her even if it goes against his number one rule of not mixing love and basketball. So they decide on a summer fling. But can they really walk away when training starts?
An unexpected catch...
NBA star Mike Giamaria doesn't mix basketball with love. Ever. Then Mike meets Tori Williams, his cute, quirky new neighbor who seems hell bent on refurbishing her death trap of a house on her own. When she falls from her roof and into his arms, Mike knows he's just caught a whole heap of trouble.
Trouble sums up Tori's life. Despite her academic success, no one believes she can take care of herself-not her family, not her ex-boyfriend. She's determined to live her life on her own terms, and if that includes a hot summer fling with the super-sexy athlete next door, so much the better.
But when Tori's around, Mike can't keep his mind on basketball. He wants...more. And to his horror, not just more time on the court. When training starts, it's game over-it has to be-unless Tori can convince Mike that love doesn't belong on the sidelines.
