The Perfect Bargain

A How to Marry a Highlander Story

Jessa McAdams (AKA Julia London) brings to life the fantasy of practically every North American woman with this fun and fiery contemporary romance. Sloan Chatfield comes across as prim as she is perceived at first but as her character is revealed I couldn't help but feel a kindred connection with her. She goes to such an elaborate plan to trick her friends but yet there is no malice in her and you can see just how much she does love these women. I did wonder a little at her connection with her parents as they were mentioned on more than one occasion but I didn't get to see what type of relationship they had. Galen Buchanan might indeed be a Highland hottie straight from the little screen but his he-man attitude but my back up almost as much as it did the heroines. But as his character is revealed and I learned more about him I couldn't help but see his rather gruff exterior covered an extremely tender heart and his quips became rather endearing. Watching the interactions between these two was entertaining and even though I knew it in my heart that they belonged together I wondered just how the author was going to pull off this amazing feat. This was a wonderfully amusing read that kept me chuckling out loud and flipping through the pages as fast as I could. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a little Scottish escapism. However the book should come with a warning that individual results may vary and that not everyone who visits the Highlands will wind up with their own Sexy Scot, however here's to hoping!

Sloane Chatfield heads to a small village in Scotland but her friends decide to surprise her by finding her the perfect man. Instead she surprises them with the tale of the Scottish hunk she has found and fallen for. Sloane is desperate for her friends to leave her alone. Galen Buchanan is desperate for a new frig for the family pub. Can these two strangers convince some American tourists they are made for one another? Can fiction turn in to reality and do these two opposites want to see where the farce will lead?
