The Last Execution

Jerrie Alexander catches readers in the cross hairs and keeps them holding their breath until the end. Being behind the scenes on a hunt for a serial killer definitely doesn’t disappoint with either the mystery or the romance. Leigh McBride is one tough cookie and when you delve into her past it’s easy to understand why, but she doesn’t need or want any sympathy. She is all business and it’s amusing to watch her deal with her very personal reactions to the curt FBI agent. Special Agent J.T Noble understands not wanting to share his personal life. His cynical attitude is a defence façade and I enjoyed seeing it being steadily chipped away. I loved watching these two tip-toe around their explosive attraction and try to ignore their connection. It proved to be extremely entertaining watching them balance their budding relationship and their case. All of the characters in this story where very well developed and made for a fascinating glimpse into the mind of a tortured soul and all the people whose lives he affects. I cannot wait to read other works by this author as I loved the pacing style and relationships in this story. If you enjoy romantic suspense this is a must-read.

Homicide Detective Leigh McBride is just fine living the guarded life she does until she is temporarily assigned to the FBI and her past becomes the present that she cannot escape from. She is usually all business yet she finds herself instantly attracted to her severe new partner. Special Agent J. T. Noble keeps his mind on the job and keeps his personal life to himself yet he cannot stay detached when it comes to the beautiful local police liaison. Now as the deal with the fallout from a serial killer they can’t ignore their budding relationship and their pasts might just destroy their future.
