Callie Hutton continues her fabulous series with this delightful Regency romance. Lady Abigail Lacey is definitely a handful and I felt so sad watching her dealing with her damaged reputation, which is caused through no fault of her own. Having previously been introduced to her it was hard to see such a formerly vivacious young woman become so solemn. But rest assured if you didn’t read the previous story it will not stop you from enjoying this book. But if you haven’t read the previous story I suggest you pick it up as I know you will love it.
Joseph Fox is a fabulous match for Lady Abigail and watching him trying to win her over was a pleasure. I enjoyed the fact that he already had such a strong connection to his new wife and her family. Watching him trying to woo her over to his way of thinking was sweet and sexy. The fact that this was not only a lovely romance but had an element of intrigue and action was a bonus for me.
I have come to the conclusion that when I start a story by this author that I better begin reading it early in the day or I won’t be getting any sleep because I can’t put it down. This was a beautiful story that kept me on my toes the entire time. It has fantastic characters, beautiful scenes and a solid storyline. I cannot wait to read the adventures of Lady Abigail’s sisters.
