The Eyewitness

Nancy C. Weeks absolutely astounds with this fabulous first in a series. I am already eagerly awaiting the next in this romantic suspense set. The D'Azzo family is perfect and first up we have Emersyn a forensic scientist. Her passion and her vibrancy are apparent from the very first but her determination to find her father's killers admirable. She is flawed and at times vulnerable but never once did I pity her, she didn't need it and I know she definitely would not have wanted it. Watching her and Detective Alec Pearce squaring off was always enjoyable. I enjoyed the fact that they had a complicated situation made even more difficult by their grief and their misunderstandings and suspicions. I enjoyed how close knit the family and the Baltimore police community is in this story. The connections and the relationships don't feel forced or faked, and I can't wait to delve a little farther into other various departments, agencies or sections of law enforcement and the people whose lives revolve around it. If you like your romantic suspense to be smart and sexy this is a must read.

Emersyn D'Azzo and her father have always seemed to butt heads but when she can't apologize for their last argument because of his murder she's determined to put his killer away. Detective Alec Pearce promised his dead partner he'd protect the man's daughter by keeping her safe and alive. But she keeps putting herself into the center of the danger. Can he protect the girl and his own heart?

To do so, she’ll need to rely on help from Alec, whom she doesn’t quite trust but just can’t resist.
