Alys Murray pens a perfectly delightful holiday read for those who love a little conflict with their holiday romances. Kate Buckner loves her hometown and has made their annual Christmas festival her life. I loved finding out just why it was so important to her and seeing how determined she was to give Clark Woodward a Christmas to remember. Clark wasn’t nearly the Grinch he seemed to come across as. That is as soon as we discover his background and reasoning. As we see his holiday heart begin to emerge I couldn’t help but understand where he was coming from and enjoying watching him reacting to all the inhabitants of Millar’s Point as they were all quite entertaining. This story is just perfect to curl up in a cozy chair with. Add in a peppermint hot chocolate and a soft blanket and you will be all set. And like all successful holiday reads this story left me with a warm fuzzy feeling and a smile on my face.
The Story: Clark Woodward and Kate Buckner are two people who see the festival at Miller’s Point in different ways. Clark sees the festival as an expense the company just can’t afford while Kate believes it’s something the town and its visitors just can’t afford to live without. Will Kate convince Clark Christmas isn’t about the profit but the heart?

She's out to save the town from a real-life Scrooge...
The small town of Miller's Point is known across the country for their annual Dickensian Christmas festival. When the festival is threatened by Clark Woodward, a miserly, big-city businessman, Kate Buckner steps up to save her hometown, their traditions, and her favorite holiday. But, along the way, she realizes that the man she's trying to protect her town from might need some rescuing of his own.
With a lot of heart and a little Christmas magic, Kate is convinced she can teach Clark to love her favorite holiday. But can such different people learn to open up and love each other?
