Lynn Cahoon paints a lovely image of a quaint California town in this lovely cozy mystery. Jill Gardner is a fantastic amateur sleuth. She's a wonderful mixture of no nonsense business woman, friendly neighbor, niece and girlfriend. The residents and locale add a wonderful depth to this story and an atmosphere that draws the reader in. Jill's Aunt is quite the character and made me laugh out loud a few times. The local lawman is almost too good to be true as the hero in this story but he still remains absolutely authentic. Jill's friends and staff are interesting characters who I'd love to see more of. I'm looking forward to seeing what else Jill can get up to and what else can possibly happen in South Cove.
South Cove shop owner Jill Gardner has a lot on her plate with the festival and business council matters while still juggling her own life. When a Texas transplant moves to town with plans to open a specialty tea shop Jill finds herself embroiled in another murder. Can she find the killer before becoming a victim?
The quaint coastal town of South Cove, California, is all abuzz about the opening of a new specialty shop, Tea Hee. But as Coffee, Books, and More owner Jill Gardner is about to find out, there's nothing cozy about murder . . .
Shop owner Kathi Corbin says she came to South Cove to get away from her estranged family. But is she telling the truth? And did a sinister someone from her past follow her to South Cove? When a woman claiming to be Kathi's sister starts making waves and a dead body is found in a local motel, Jill must step in to clear Kathi's name--without getting herself in hot water.
