Boone Brux weaves a magical story with this paranormal romance. I’ll admit to being a complete sucker for mythology-based stories and when they are well-written, nothing makes me happier and let me say, this is one fabulous story. The characters are engaging and I just couldn’t put this book down, so maybe not such a great idea to read it so late at night. . . Tor Stephanos is a truly wonderful leading man and watching him interact with Nikki was a treat. I also loved when he sparred with his mother, I felt a little sorry for him but I didn’t pity him for long. He is definitely a god and worthy of the fantastic heroine. I felt an immediate affinity for Nikki and was so invested in her life. I’m pretty sure she has made a friend for life and I’d love to see more adventures from this cast of mythical characters come to life. I believe this is the first book I’ve read by this author but it definitely will not be my last as she has a definite story-telling skill.
Let the battle begin! Nikki has been silently lusting after her boss Tor Stephanos forever but the son of Aphrodite shows no interest in her that way until they indulge in a bottle of Ambrosia and each other. But Tor acts as if nothing happened which really riles up this daughter of Ares. So she plans a strategy to win at love and war, a strategy that would make her papa proud.
Being the son of Aphrodite isn’t a walk in the clouds. Rebelling against his demi-god status, billionaire make-up mogul Toraos Stephanos fights to separate his personal life and the immortal world by swearing off demi-god girlfriends forever. Too bad his newest employee can't take the hint.
Though Nikki secretly pines for her smoking hot boss, no way will she jeopardize her job and independence professing her love to a guy so clearly out of her league. Too bad that leaves her with only imagining him naked and thinking evil thoughts about the new girl. After a single bottle of Ambrosia and one night of passion... Nikki finally thinks she has a chance with the man of her dreams. But the next morning, Tor pretends like nothing happened, leaving Nikki with an emerging drive for combat—after all, turns out she is the daughter of Ares and she's about to make her mama proud.
All is fair in love and war... and Nikki's not about to let anyone forget it.
