Priced to Kill

Cindy York Mysteries book #2

Catherine Bruns brings back a fantastic amateur sleuthing duo with this sweet and sentimental cozy mystery. Cindy York is such a wonderful cozy heroine, she’s a little overwhelmed with her busy life but she is a genuinely good woman. I enjoyed watching Cindy juggle her career and family but I especially loved her conversations with her mother-in-law and her hormonal teenage daughter. These not so pleasant exchanges inserted a realism while still providing entertainment. I couldn’t get enough of her life even when she was becoming overwhelmed by her amorous husband and dog, her rambunctious twins and her dazzling yet slightly demanding best friend. The mystery itself was rather touching and personal and I’ll admit I was afraid that the outcome might hurt Cindy but it had a believable conclusion. If you enjoy cozy mysteries with delightful characters and a solid mystery pick this one up.

Real Estate Agent Cindy York finds herself overwhelmed by the prospective sale of her childhood friend’s home as it brings back all the memories of the day he killed himself. But when she attends a reunion and new evidence arises and Cindy is convinced it was murder and she’s determined to prove it. Someone thinks they have been in the clear for over 25 years and will stop at nothing to keep their secret.
