Jane Ashford absolutely delights with this charming historical romance. Flora Jennings is an intriguing heroine who won me over long before she was introduced on the page. Lord Robert Gresham's pondering such about her had me knowing I would adore her before she actually made an appearance. Her strong character and smart mind were beyond admirable but what I liked the most was when her kind heart and even her own apprehensions shined through. She was so clearly out of her element at times and yet she handled herself so well that I never once felt sorry for her. lord Gresham had my heart from the moment he rescued his poor little mongrel. Any gentleman with a soft spot for a stray animal always deserves my attention but this hero kept my good opinion in the way he treated everyone at the house party and how he proved himself worthy of Flora's regard as well as deserving of the sterling reputation he garnered amongst the ton. I loved there conversations and how having the lead couple surrounded by people and interacting with different characters enhanced their personalities. If you are a fan of Regency romances I suggest you don't miss out on this one. I'm hoping some of these characters make an appearance in their very own adventures.
Lord Robert Gresham needs to forget about Flora Jennings it would seem he was not suited to scholarly world so he returns to he accepts an invitation to a house party in the country where he plans to embrace his aristocratic lifestyle. But when Flora shows up his plans change. Can he convince Flora he is more than just a handsome face?
