No Other Duke Will Do

Windham Brides, #3

Grace Burrowes delights regency fans once again with this lovely historical. Julian St. David, Duke of Haverford and Elizabeth Windham are a treasure to watch. They are both complex individuals with layered pasts and multi-faceted personalities. Witnessing their relationship grow and expand and watching them curtail the gossips and obstacles kept me glued to the pages. I enjoyed the fact that their issues were not simply glossed over and that they were taken seriously. Julian's sense of honour was just that and not a haughty pride. The supporting cast of characters were all interesting in their own ways and added to the story in one way or another. I enjoyed the fact that I got to delve deeper into so of the character's personalities and lives and I'm looking forward to revisiting with some of them in upcoming stories hopefully. The house party setting and the adjoins farm came to life for me in such great detail without overpowering the actual story. If you are looking for a mature witting story with fascinating characters and a sweet and sexy love story this is a good bet!

The Story: Julian St. David, Duke of Haverford has given into his sister's wishes to throw a house party. He is regretting the strain on his budget and his patience is frazzled. As the days go on the only bright spot is meeting the fascinating Elizabeth Windham. Elizabeth has been sent to find a suitable husband but only Julian catches her attention and her heart. Can they overcome their obstacles and find a way to be together?

Book Blurb for No Other Duke Will Do

Julian St. David, Duke of Haverford, is barely keeping his head above water in a sea of inherited debts. Though he has a long-term plan to restore the family finances, his sister has a much faster solution: host a house party for London's single young ladies and find Julian a wealthy bride.

Elizabeth Windham has no interest in marriage, but a recent scandal has forced her hand. As much as she'd rather be reading Shakespeare than husband-hunting, she has to admit she's impressed by Julian's protective instincts, broad shoulders, and, of course, his vast library.

As the two spend more time together, their attraction is overwhelming, unexpected... and absolutely impossible. With meddling siblings, the threat of financial ruin, and gossips lurking behind every potted palm, will they find true love or true disaster?
