Alison Bliss follows up her series with this enemies to lovers story. Jessa Gibson is one of the strongest sweetest heroines I have ever come across and to be quite blunt I believe she deserved someone a lot better than Max Hager. I never disliked a hero more than I have Max Hager. It wasn’t until more than halfway through the story that I realized I had met him before, in a previous book. At that point I was able to adjust my opinion of him but just slightly. He was self-centred, domineering and rude to everyone at times... including his friends. I understand why he wanted the food truck gone and his food issues, but it was no excuse for his behaviour. This was a well written story and I truly wish I could have gotten over my dislike for Max and I believe that other readers can. So, if you're a fan of enemies to lovers story this one might be a good choice for you.
The Story: Jessa Gibson has taken a giant leap of faith and moved to a strange town to start her brand new food truck business. Things are going well until the new food inspector won’t leave her alone. Max Hager has his reasons for not wanting his friends diner to close, but when the new food truck steals all the diners customers Max will stop at nothing to win.
This laugh-out-loud romantic comedy proves that, when enemies become lovers, all bets are off!
Jessa Gibson may be new in the little town of Granite, Texas, but in no time at all her gourmet food truck business is booming. Soon she'll have enough money to open the restaurant of her dreams. But first, she'll have to appease the hot local health inspector, no matter how strange his "violations" sound to her. No pink plastic gloves? Really?
Max Hager isn't exactly who he says he is. Pretending to be a health inspector is a (mostly) innocent mistake. A mistake made way worse by Max's immediate, electrifying attraction to the curvy, sexy, redheaded chef. Throw in a whole lot of lust, and things in Jessa's little kitchen are about to really start heating up. But can Max find a way to come clean with Jessa before his little deception turns into a recipe for disaster?
