Madeleine's Christmas Wish

The Marriage Game - Novella

Ella Quinn gifts readers with a cute historical holiday romance with Madeleine's Christmas Wish. As with shorter stories you jump right into the action and the romance. The lead couple are both strong characters whom I felt an instant connection to. Georges is a very convincing hero and Madeleine might be a lady in peril, however she never comes across as helpless or incapable. I loved the fact that there was a touch of a mystery and I’m a fan of feel-good holiday reads.

If you are looking for a quick Christmas read and enjoy historical romances this is a great choice. While it does fall under a series it is a stand-alone and is a solid, simple choice to enjoy over a warm mug of hot chocolate.

The Story:

Georges the Marquis Cruzy-le-Châtel, lives in England and sacrifices his life at home and his chance for happiness by spying for his country. He has never forgotten his childhood sweetheart and when he discovers Madeleine the Comtesse du Beaune has been living in England and working in a brothel he offers her marriage. While the marriage is in name only Georges decides to woo her on their journey.
