Line of Scrimmage

Game On, #2

Desiree Holt scores a touchdown with this contemporary romance filled with heat and heart. Jake Russell is a fabulous leading man, he's all alpha and sexy as sin. Seriously I think I practically fell in love with him myself from the first scene. With every layer of his character revealed I fell even deeper. His gruff attitude was entirely understandable and the fact that he took as much as he gave more than made up for any rude behaviour. Erin Bass held her own when it came to his grumpiness and while I enjoyed their bantering, I couldn't help but hope that she would see past his profession. I enjoyed that both these characters were so realistic, their flaws and idiosyncrasies made them more authentic to me. To me there is nothing better than a solid story and relationship in the erotic contemporaries I read and this author certainly provides all three elements in a way that keeps me coming back for more. She titillates and teases but nothing is gratuitous and the sex scenes advance the plot instead of acting like mere filler. If you are looking for a fantastic break from your everyday I highly suggest you pick this one up. If you aren't already a fan of this prolific writer I believe this one will definitely make you one.

Erin Bass has one hard rule when it comes to the men in her life, no football players yet Jake Russell made her forget her rule for one unforgettable night. The next morning Erin makes it clear that there will never be a repeat of the previous night's activities and Jake can't believe how easily he's dismissed. He can't get her out of his mind but then an injury occurs and Jake needs help. Can these two learn to get past their pasts and have a future together?

Sometimes it’s not about winning…

One bad tackle. That’s all it took to put wide receiver Jake Russell in a cast for the rest of the NFL season. From being a high school all-star to getting drafted by the Austin Mustangs, football has been Jake’s life for as long as he can remember. It’s what defines him—because he has a secret he never shares. But now that he’s laid up in bed with a nurse displaying a lot of distracting bedside manners, he’s discovering life on the sidelines might have its perks. . .

One last paycheck. That’s all Erin Bass has left to her name when the resort she works at shuts down. Desperate, she agrees to be a caregiver to hardass jock Jake Russell, who also happens to be a memorable one-night stand. Before long, caring leads to daring new ways to catch up in bed, especially with Jake still in a cast. But with football on the sidelines, this time the game is serious. . .
