How Secrets Die

Marta Perry transports readers to the delightful small town of Laurel Ridge which on the surface is idyllic but is revealed to be as dangerous as any big city. Kate Beaumont is a fabulously stubborn and on her it is an attractive quality. Her sorrow over the loss of her brother gives her a soft edge but doesn't dull her determination. I loved watching her come under the spell of small town living and I loved even more watching her fall for the charms of the small town lawman. Mac Whiting is a superb hero; he has just the right amount of realness to keep him from being too good to be true. The setting is fabulous, the characters wonderful and the mystery enticing. If you a looking for a solid romantic suspense I cannot recommend this one highly enough.

Reporter Kate Beaumont travels to the small town of Laurel Ridge in the hopes of discovering what the last days of her brother's life were like. Was it simply a drug overdose or was something more sinister happening in the beautiful town. And just who can she trust? Is the Mac Whiting more determined to keep his towns secrets or protect Kate from danger?
