Hot Toy

Jennifer Crusie gifts readers with this contemporary holiday novella. This swift, engaging story has something for everyone; action, mystery, holiday cheer and a love triangle. Anyone who has ever been stuck on Christmas Eve trying to track down that one must-have Christmas gift for someone, especially a child will completely relate to this story. Trudy Maxwell was an engaging heroine and even with the short story I was able to connect with her, although not as much as I usually do with this author's characters. Witnessing her calm under pressure was quite entertaining, most women, myself included would have been freaking out over the entire situation. Nolan is an old date and Reece her father's former RA and they make for an interesting set of Christmas suitors. I liked that this story is so extremely over the top, after all I read fiction to take me away from reality and this present certainly did this. If you are looking for a completely extravagant holiday short this is one that will leave you gasping and giggling.

It's Christmas Eve and time is running out for Trudy Maxwell to make her nephew's wish come true. His father has promised him that Santa will deliver the most sought after toy of the year and she is determined to see it happens. But it's harder than she imagined because soon she's not just battling desperate parents.
